Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - The injury-riddled Minnesota Timberwolves have yet another player added to their list of ailing players, with the team announcing Friday that starting center Nikola Pekovic will be sidelined between 7-to-10 days due to a right thigh contusion.

Pekovic, who ranks second on the club in both scoring (16.0 ppg) and rebounding (8.6 rpg), sustained the injury during Thursday's 90-77 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Minnesota is already without All-Star forward Kevin Love as well as guards Brandon Roy, Alexey Shved and Malcolm Lee and swingman Chase Budinger. Shved sat out Thursday's contest with a sprained left ankle and is considered day- to-day after missing Friday's practice.

Love underwent surgery earlier this week to repair his twice-broken right hand and is expected to be out until mid-March. Roy has not played since November because of problems with one of his two degenerative knees and is without a timetable for a return.

Budinger is still on the mend from surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee and isn't likely to be back until March, while Lee is done for the season after recently having procedures done on his knee and hip.

Because of their depleted roster, the NBA has granted the Timberwolves an injury roster exception in which the team can sign an additional player to a 10-day contract.
