Orchard Park, NY (Sports Network) - The Buffalo Bills have released their two top tacklers of 2012, parting ways with linebacker Nick Barnett and safety George Wilson on Monday.

After spending eight productive seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Barnett came to the Bills as a free agent in 2011 and led the team in tackles while playing in every game during both of his two years in Buffalo.

He totaled 242 tackles over his two seasons, registering 112 with two sacks in 2012.

Wilson, a defensive co-captain last season, has played with the Bills for the entirety of his eight-year career. He trailed only Barnett for most tackles on the team last year, amassing 104 while also making five pass deflections.

Before becoming a full-time starting safety in 2008, Wilson played a major role on special teams.

In 92 games with Buffalo, he recorded 412 tackles, 12 interceptions and 3.5 sacks.
