Berea, OH (Sports Network) - The Cleveland Browns placed safety T.J. Ward and linebacker James-Michael Johnson on injured reserve among a series of roster moves on Tuesday.

Ward, the team's starting strong safety, suffered a bone bruise in his knee during the third quarter of Sunday's 38-21 loss to Washington. The third-year pro ranks second among Cleveland players with 68 tackles while forcing a club- best three forced fumbles, and also came up with an interception against the Redskins before exiting.

Johnson, a fourth-round pick of the Browns in this past April's draft, also left Sunday's defeat with a knee injury. The Nevada product started eight of the 10 games he appeared in at outside linebacker during his rookie campaign and finished with 36 tackles.

The Browns said in a release that neither player will require surgery.

To fill the available spots, Cleveland signed cornerback Prince Miller and linebacker Adrian Moten in addition to promoting defensive end Hall Davis to the active roster from the practice squad.

Moten played in 12 games, primarily on special teams, in stops with Indianapolis and Seattle last season, and had a brief stint with Philadelphia before being waived in October.
