Berea, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Cleveland Browns coach Rob Chudzinski announced Wednesday that Jason Campbell will start at quarterback against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

The decision to make a switch at quarterback comes just days after Brandon Weeden dropped to 0-4 as a starter this season with a 31-13 loss to the Packers on Sunday.

Weeden started the first two games of the season before hurting his thumb. The Oklahoma State product sat out the next two games as Brian Hoyer took over under center.

The 30-year-old Weeden was forced back into action when Hoyer suffered a torn ACL in Week 5 against the Bills.

On Sunday against Green Bay, Weeden completed just 17-of-42 passes for 149 yards, one touchdown and an interception.

Weeden had a rough rookie season in 2012, completing just 57.4 percent of his passes for 3,385 yards with 14 touchdowns and 17 interceptions for a 5-11 team.

Campbell signed with the Browns this spring after playing six games with one start for Chicago last year. He completed 32-of-51 passes for 265 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions as the primary backup to Jay Cutler.

The 31-year-old Campbell was selected with the 25th overall pick of the 2005 draft by Washington and spent his first five seasons with the Redskins before heading to Oakland for two years.

Campbell draws the difficult task of facing the league's best pass-rushing team in the Chiefs, who lead the league with 35 sacks.
