Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians will not be with the team for Sunday's AFC Wild Card Playoff against the Baltimore Ravens due to an illness that has landed him in a local hospital.

The Colts announced that Arians was taken to the hospital Sunday morning after feeling ill, but is presently doing fine. He had previously missed Thursday's practice because of flu-like symptoms.

Quarterbacks coach Clyde Christensen will handle play-calling duties for Sunday's contest.

Arians served a large portion of Indianapolis' surprising 11-5 season as the acting head coach while Chuck Pagano underwent treatment for leukemia. The 60- year-old guided the Colts to a 9-3 record during his time in charge, and is believed to be a candidate for several current head coaching vacancies around the league.

Pagano returned to the sidelines for last week's regular-season finale, a 28-16 victory against AFC South champion Houston.
