Indianapolis Colts running back Donald Brown practiced Wednesday for the first time since undergoing knee surgery earlier this month.

Brown, the Colts' leading rusher, had a procedure to repair torn cartilage in his knee on Oct. 9, two days after he was injured while scoring on a two-point conversion during the fourth quarter of a 30-27 win over Green Bay in Week 5.

The former first-round pick was a limited participant in Wednesday's session, and his status for Indianapolis' upcoming game at Tennessee won't be determined until later in the week.

Rookie Vick Ballard has filled in for Brown the last two weeks and gained a career-best 84 yards on 20 carries in Sunday's 17-13 victory over Cleveland.

In other team injury news, defensive end Cory Redding practiced fully on Wednesday after sitting out the Cleveland game with a sprained knee, but outside linebacker Robert Mathis remained sidelined with a knee injury that's caused him to miss the Colts' last two contests.
