New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson and Seattle Seahawks kicker Steven Hauschka have been named the NFC's top performers for the fourth week of the 2013 season.

Brees secured his 17th career Player of the Week Award and first since Week 5 of last season after completing 30-of-39 passes for 413 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions in the Saints' 38-17 win over Miami.

The Purdue product tied his own NFL records with his ninth straight 300-yard passing game and his 10th consecutive game with at least 25 completions.

Peterson posted two interceptions in the final 3:12 of Arizona's 13-10 come- from-behind victory at Tampa Bay, with the first setting up the Cardinals' go- ahead score and the second sealing the outcome with 48 seconds remaining.

Peterson picked up his first career Defensive Player of the Week Award after taking home Special Teams honors twice during his rookie campaign last season.

Hauschka connected on all three of his field-goal attempts on Sunday, including a game-winning 45-yard field goal in overtime to lift the Seahawks to a 23-20 victory over Houston.

Others considered for the offensive award included Detroit running back Reggie Bush, Atlanta tight end Tony Gonzalez, San Francisco running back Frank Gore and Minnesota teammates Matt Cassel, Greg Jennings and Adrian Peterson.

Defensive consideration went to Minnesota defensive end Jared Allen, San Francisco linebacker NaVorro Bowman, Minnesota linebacker Chad Greenway, Dallas linebacker Sean Lee, Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman and Detroit defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.

Detroit kicker David Akers, Arizona kicker Jay Feely and San Francisco punter Andy Lee were nominated for the special teams award.
