New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - For the first time this season, the AFC's top offensive player was not named Manning or Rivers.

It was a quarterback, though, as New York Jets rookie Geno Smith claimed the honor for Week 5.

Smith completed 16-of-20 passes for 199 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in New York's 30-28 win over Atlanta. In addition, he guided the Jets to the winning field goal in the final minute. His 147.7 passer rating was the best in the NFL for 2013.

Defensive honors went to Oakland cornerback Charles Woodson, who registered four tackles with an interception and a fumble return of 25 yards for a touchdown in the Raiders' 27-17 win over San Diego. He earned his fifth career weekly award, and first with the Raiders. His 13 career touchdown returns off turnovers are tied with Darren Sharper and Rod Woodson for the most in NFL history.

Cleveland's Travis Benjamin earned the special teams award. He returned seven punts for a team record 179 yards, including a 79-yard touchdown, in the Browns' 37-24 win over Buffalo to capture his second career weekly honor. A 57-yard punt return also set up a Cleveland field goal.

Others considered for the offensive award were Denver's Peyton Manning, already a two-time winner this year who threw for 414 yards with four touchdowns and his first interception of the season in a 51-48 victory over Dallas; Indianapolis receiver T.Y. Hilton, who had five catches for 140 yards with two scores in a 34-28 victory over Seattle; and Kansas City running back Jamaal Charles, who ran for 108 yards with a touchdown in a 26-17 triumph over Tennessee.

Defensive consideration also went to Denver linebacker Danny Trevathan, who had five tackles with an interception that set up the winning field goal in the Broncos' victory at Dallas, and Baltimore linebacker Terrell Suggs, who had three sacks with five tackles in a 26-23 win over Miami.

Jets kicker Nick Folk was nominated for the special teams award after kicking three field goals, including the winner as time expired, against the Falcons, and Baltimore kicker Justin Tucker, who connected on each of his four field goals against the Dolphins.
