New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The NFL fined Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin $100,000 on Wednesday for interfering with a play in progress.

The league will also consider modification or forfeiture of draft choices after the final order of the 2014 draft has been determined.

The hefty fine is the result of Tomlin's actions on the sideline during a kickoff return in the Steelers' 22-20 loss at Baltimore on Thanksgiving night.

With 6:26 remaining in the third quarter, the Ravens' Jacoby Jones was slowed by Tomlin's positioning as he returned a kickoff. Tomlin, who had his back to Jones, was standing in the restricted white border that surrounds the field and stepped foot onto the field during Jones' return.

Jones was ultimately tackled from behind after appearing to have an opportunity at a touchdown.

Tomlin should have been flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct, but no penalty was called.

"As I stated yesterday, I take full responsibility for my actions, and I apologize for causing negative attention to the Pittsburgh Steelers organization," Tomlin said in a statement. "I accept the penalty that I received. I will no longer address this issue as I am preparing for an important game this Sunday against the Miami Dolphins."
