Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks, the second week in a row he will be sidelined because of a torn labrum.

Martin's availability for the rest of the season depends on whether or not he can function and play through the pain, Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano said Friday.

"The injury he has, if you can do your job, then you can play," Schiano said. "He's a tough guy and he wants to play. There's been tons of guys that have done it. Not that it means that he can, and it's not a slight if he can't, it's just physiological. Can you or can't you? Some can, some can't."

Martin will eventually have surgery to repair the injury, Schiano said. He said Martin won't come back "unless he could be very effective."

"He's going to need to get it repaired, and it doesn't make a difference if he does it now or does it at the end of the year," said Schiano. "So if he can function, he wants to and we want him to. If he can't function at a high level, then we'll shut it down. But it's not an issue of (it getting) worse. It's none of those things."

Martin has 127 carries for 456 yards and a touchdown this season for the 0-7 Bucs. Rookie Mike James totaled 39 yards on 10 carries against the Carolina Panthers last week.

Running back Jeff Demps (groin) and guard Carl Nicks (foot) have also been ruled out for the Bucs.

Safety Dashon Goldson (knee) is questionable after being limited in practice all week and Schiano said he's hopeful he can play. The coach said he thinks safety Mark Barron, questionable with a hip injury, will play.

Defensive tackle Derek Landri (back), wide receiver Chris Owusu (foot) and linebacker Dekoda Watson (shoulder) are also questionable.
