Recap: Oakland vs. Kansas City

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Sebastian Janikowski accounted for all of Oakland's points on five field goals, as the Raiders posted a 15-0 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15 action from the AFC West.

Carson Palmer finished 18-of-29 for 182 yards for the Raiders (4-10), who snapped a six-game losing skid.

Darren McFadden totaled 110 yards on 30 carries with four grabs for 25 yards, and Rod Streater posted 62 yards on five receptions.

"I think our guys needed something where they get a little bit of confidence," Raiders coach Dennis Allen said. "I thought they were totally focused in on what we needed to do and how we needed to play to win this football game."

Brady Quinn threw for 136 yards and one interception on 18-of-32 efficiency for the Chiefs (2-12), who have dropped 10 of their last 11 outings.

Dexter McCluster had seven receptions for 59 yards in the setback, Kansas City's first by shutout since Dec. 12, 2010 at San Diego in a 31-0 loss.

"We feel confident week in and week out that we can score points. It's our job to score points, but third down really killed us today," said McCluster.

Janikowski booted a 20-yard field goal to cap Oakland's third series -- a 58 yard drive -- then added a 50-yard make early in the second quarter for a 6-0 game. The second score was set up when Joselio Hanson picked off Quinn and the Raiders set up on the Chiefs' 39-yard line.

Oakland led 9-0 at halftime thanks to a 57-yard boot from Janikowski on the last play of the period. The hosts moved from their own 9-yard line to the Chiefs' 39 thanks to a 14-yard completion from Palmer to Brandon Myers on the play before the field goal.

The former Florida State kicker was called upon a fourth time, and he was true from 30 yards away as the hosts ended their opening series of the third quarter which traversed 81 yards.

On the following series, Quinn was undone by a delay-of-game penalty during a 4th-and-goal from the 4-yard line, then the Raiders defense held Quinn to a 1-yard pass on the next play before taking over on downs.

Janikowski punctuated the ensuing Oakland drive with a field goal, this one of 41 yards, to make it 15-0.

Kansas City couldn't capitalize on a McFadden fumble two possessions later, as Quinn's pass fell incomplete on 4th-and-12 from the Oakland 20. The Chiefs also failed on a 4th-and-1 from their own 38 as a pass to McCluster went for no gain.
