Recap: St. Louis vs. Seattle

St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - Greg Zuerlein kicked four field goals, including a Rams franchise record 60-yarder, as St. Louis dropped the Seattle Seahawks, 19-13, on Sunday at Edward Jones Dome.

Zuerlein, a rookie out of Missouri Western State, also hit from 58, 48 and 24 yards, and has not missed a field goal try in his young NFL career, going 12- for-12.

Sam Bradford threw for 221 yards on 16-of-30 passing in the win, while Stephen Jackson, who was questionable during the week due to a groin problem, ran for 55 yards on 18 carries.

Danny Amendola caught six passes for 55 yards and a touchdown for the Rams (2-2), who bounced back from a loss to the Chicago Bears last week. Punter Johnny Hekker threw a touchdown pass on a fake field goal in the victory.

"They Seahawks are a very talented team," Rams coach Jeff Fisher said. "We were very fortunate to have this come down to the end and be able to make a play to win the ballgame."

One week after being handed a win over the Green Bay Packers on Golden Tate's controversial last-second catch in the end zone, the Seahawks got no such help from proper referee Mike Carey and his crew.

Russell Wilson threw for 160 yards and three interceptions on 17-of-25 passing and Marshawn Lynch ran for 118 yards with a touchdown on 20 carries for Seattle (2-2), which was trying for its first 3-1 start since the 2007 campaign.

Steven Hauschka kicked two field goals and Sidney Rice led the receiving corps with four catches for 41 yards in the setback.

Trailing by six, the Seahawks began their final possession of the game at the 20-yard line with no timeouts and 3:09 on the clock.

Wilson led his team down to the St. Louis 35, but was picked off by Bradley Fletcher, and the Rams ran the remaining time off the clock.

"It was a rough day for us, football wise," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. "We turned the ball over three times. It's really hard to win at home when you do that and nearly impossible to win on the road when that happens."

Seattle struck first on the opening drive of the game as Wilson hit Rice for 17 yards on the first play of the march. The Wisconsin product found Rice four plays later for 16 yards to the St. Louis 32 and Lynch finished the 8-play, 80-yard drive with an 18-yard sprint to the end zone.

The Rams responded on their ensuing possession, putting together a lengthy 10- play drive to the Seattle 40 and Zuerlein was good from 58 yards out, pulling St. Louis within 7-3.

With 7:35 left in the first half, the St. Louis defense came up with a big play when Wilson was picked off at the Rams' 44-yard line by Trumaine Johnson.

Following the interception, the Rams drove down to the Seattle three before Jackson went off right tackle for the touchdown. The play was called back on an offensive holding call though, and the Rams were faced with a big 4th-and-2 from the 2-yard line.

The Rams lined up in a field goal formation, but faked it as Hekker popped up from his holder position and found Amendola alone in the end zone, giving the Rams a 10-7 lead.

Zuerlein capped the opening 30 minutes of play with a 48-yard field goal to extend the St. Louis advantage to 13-7.

Seattle went for an onside kick to open the second half, but was unable to recover the ball, giving the Rams excellent field position at the 48 to begin the half.

The Rams were only able to make it to the Seahawks' 42-yard line, but Zuerlein blasted a low line drive through the uprights for a 60-yard field goal, widening the lead to 16-7.

After forcing a three-and-out, the Seahawks got the ball at their own 13 and marched 75 yards in 13 plays before Hauschka connected on a 31-yard field goal with 4:10 to go in the third quarter, making it 16-10.

Seattle bridged the third and fourth quarters with an eight-play, 43-yard drive and Hauschka capped it with a 30-yarder to cut the deficit to three early in the final quarter.

On the Rams' next touch, Bradford led his team on an impressive 15-play, 74- yard drive to the Seattle six and Zuerlein was good on the chip-shot 24- yarder for a 19-13 game with 6:07 remaining.
