Recap: Arizona vs. Buffalo

Glendale, AZ (Sports Network) - Rian Lindell hit a 25-yard field goal in overtime as the Buffalo Bills took a 19-16 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Buffalo started the extra session with the ball, but had to punt after stalling near midfield.

The Bills, though, got a turnover when John Skelton, who took over for an injured Kevin Kolb late in the fourth quarter, was picked off by Jairus Byrd and he took it 29 yards down to the 6-yard line.

After Ryan Fitzpatrick ran the ball to center it, Lindell calmly booted it through the uprights for the win.

C.J. Spiller had 12 carries for 88 yards and a score while Fred Jackson added 16 carries for 53 yards and a touchdown for the Bills (3-3), who snapped a two-game losing streak.

Fitzpatrick was a pedestrian 18-for-32 with 153 yards as Buffalo is tied for the top spot in the AFC East as all four teams in that division have a 3-3 record.

"This was a tough football game against a good football team. To come on the road and win it the way we won it, I'm so impressed with the way our team played," Buffalo coach Chan Gailey said.

Kevin Kolb passed for 128 yards with one score and one interception on 14- of-26 chances, but he left the game late in the fourth quarter with an injury. Larry Fitzgerald caught six passes for 93 yards and a score for the Cardinals (4-2), who have dropped their past two after opening the season with four straight wins.

Holding a one-point lead in the third, the Cardinals added to their advantage with a 49-yard field goal from Jay Feely with 3:12 left for a 13-9 game. The 12-play, 43-yard drive saw the team convert a pair of third downs.

Buffalo answered on its next touch to take the lead back. On the first play, Steve Johnson caught a 23-yard pass and Spiller later had a 33-yard run. On 1st-and-goal at the 1-yard line, Jackson punched the ball in for a 16-13 lead with 27 seconds left in the third.

Following an exchange of punts, Kolb was picked off by Byrd, but Brad Smith was intercepted himself on a Wildcat play when his deep pass was snagged by Patrick Peterson.

Kolb converted a 1st-and-20 with a 22-yard run, but was hurt on the next play as he was tackled by a pair of players on a run. Skelton hit Fitzgerald for 17 yards on a 4th-and-11 to get the ball to the Buffalo 43, but the team was unable to get any closer. It didn't matter, though, as Feely calmly booted a career-high 61-yard field goal down the middle to tie the game with 1:09 to play.

"I felt like if I hit the ball well I could make that kick," Feely said. "Obviously I was thrilled to make it, but all I care about is winning. The fact that we didn't win the game negates everything else."

Buffalo was held to a three-and-out and a poor punt gave Arizona the ball back near midfield. A 28-yard catch by Fitzgerald set up Feely for a 38-yard field goal attempt, but he hit it off the left upright and it bounced out to send the game to overtime.

Jackson fumbled the ball on the first offensive snap of the game and Arizona recovered at the Buffalo 33. The Cardinals managed just two yards, though, and got a 49-yard field goal from Jay Feely for a quick 3-0 lead.

Buffalo had to punt on its ensuing touch and Arizona got the ball back at its own 13. After losing a yard and a six-yard holding call, Kolb was sacked in the end zone by Chris Kelsay for a safety to make it a 3-2 game.

The Bills started with the ball near midfield after the free kick and used a combination of handoffs to Jackson and short passes to get down to the Arizona 10. On 1st-and-goal at the 10, Spiller took the ball in off left tackle for a 9-3 lead with 3:35 left in the first.

In the second quarter, Arizona started a drive with the ball at its own 33. A 17-yard catch by Fitzgerald on 3rd-and-2 moved the chains, and William Powell's 17-yard run got the ball in the red zone. Two plays later, Kolb hit Fitzgerald over the middle and he took it in on a 9-yard score for a 10-9 lead with 4:47 left in the half.
