Recap: Denver vs. Philadelphia

Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Peyton Manning added to his record-setting touchdown total with four more scoring strikes and the Denver Broncos set a franchise record for points in a game with a 52-20 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Manning has racked up 16 touchdown passes, the most in the first four games of a season in NFL history. He was 28-of-34 for 327 yards and again went without an interception, matching the NFL record for most touchdown passes to start a season without a pick.

"We felt really motivated to score points against these guys," Manning said of facing the Eagles' high-paced offense. "We were motivated to be on top of our game offensively, to score points, touchdowns not field goals, and I thought we did that today."

Wes Welker and Demaryius Thomas both hauled in two scores and Knowshon Moreno rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries for the Broncos (4-0), who have won 15 straight regular-season games dating back to last season to set a franchise record.

Denver's special teams also contributed to the rout, with Trindon Holliday returning a kickoff 105 yards for a score and Steven Johnson returning a blocked punt for a touchdown.

Michael Vick threw for 248 yards on 14-of-27 passing, but was unable to find the end zone as the Eagles (1-3) dropped their third straight game since opening the season with a win over NFC East rival Washington.

"Every thing is correctable, we just have to find ways to get it corrected," Vick said of the team's struggles.

Backup quarterback Nick Foles replaced Vick late in the fourth quarter and fired a 6-yard touchdown pass to Jeff Maehl to account for the final margin.

The Broncos opened the second half with 31 straight points to blow the game open.

Manning did most of the work, orchestrating three straight scoring drives in the third, each one ending in a touchdown pass to create a comfortable cushion for the Broncos.

Denver opened the half with back-to-back 80-yard treks. Manning capped the first with a 1-yard TD toss to Thomas before going back to the wideout for a 15-yard scoring strike to give the Broncos a 35-13.

Manning completed all five passes on a 7-play, 65-yard march, culminating in a 4-yard touchdown pass to Welker on an out-route to push the margin to 42-13.

Johnson broke through the line and blocked punter Donnie Jones before scooping up the bouncing ball and rumbling 17 yards for a score to make it 49-13 early in the fourth.

Matt Prater's 53-yard field goal later in the frame gave the Broncos their most points in a single game.

Foles finished Philadelphia's ensuing drive with a 6-yard TD toss to Maehl to cap the scoring.

Early on, Denver's defense forced a three-and-out from Philadelphia to open the game before Manning moved the Broncos down the field in nine plays, with his 6-yard scoring strike to Welker making it 7-0 less than five minutes in.

Vick led the Eagles inside the Denver 20 on Philadelphia's next touch, but tight end Brent Celek had a pass go off his hands on 3rd-and-4, setting up Alex Henery's 35-yard field goal that got the Eagles on the board.

Holliday extended Denver's lead on the ensuing kickoff, fielding the kick five yards deep in the end zone before following a convoy of blockers and speeding past the kicker en route to a 105-yard return to make it 14-3.

Vick guided his squad deep into Denver territory on the team's next possession, but the drive stalled at the Denver 7, and the Eagles had to settle for a 25-yard field goal from Henery to pull within 14-6 early in the second.

Following a Denver punt, Vick found DeSean Jackson for 20 yards down the middle before dumping off a screen to Bryce Brown on 3rd-and-11 that Brown turned into a 35-yard gain down to the Denver 4.

Two plays later, Chris Polk took his first NFL carry into the end zone for a 4-yard score to make it 14-13 just under four minutes into the second.

Denver countered with an 11-play, 80-yard drive that Moreno capped with a 4- yard surge to extend the Broncos' lead to 21-13 late in the first half.
