Recap: Jacksonville vs. Tampa Bay

Jacksonville, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Denard Robinson's touchdown run in the fourth quarter gave the Jacksonville Jaguars a 16-10 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the preseason opener for both teams.

Jacksonville quarterback Blake Bortles, the third pick in this year's draft, went 7-for-11 for 117 yards in his first NFL action, leading the team on one scoring drive in about two quarters of action.

Chad Henne started under center for the Jaguars and was 4-for-7 for 30 yards.

Tampa Bay, meanwhile, has a new head coach in Lovie Smith, who was hired in the offseason to replace Greg Schiano.

Free agent signing Josh McCown, who played under Smith in Chicago, went 2- for-4 for 20 yards and an interception while starting under center. Mike Glennon was 11-for-19 for 140 yards and a score.

Both teams finished last season with 4-12 records.

The only points of the first quarter were provided by the Jacksonville defense, as Winston Guy picked off a McCown pass and returned it 68 yards for a score and a 7-0 lead.

Tampa Bay took advantage of a Henne fumble that the team recovered near midfield and converted into a 44-yard field goal from Connor Barth to make it a 7-3 game with under 10 minutes to play in the first half.

Bortles took over under center in the second quarter and led his team on a scoring drive in the third. The team went 75 yards in nine plays, and Kasey Redfern put the ball through the uprights from 26 yards out for a 10-3 lead with four minutes left in the third.

The Buccaneers answered on their ensuing touch with a 10-play, 85-yard drive that was finished off on a 6-yard touchdown catch by Tommy Streeter from Glennon to tie the game early in the fourth.

Following an exchange of punts, the Jaguars went on top as Robinson ran the ball in from 23 yards out. The team went for two points and failed to hold a 16-10 lead with 6 1/2 minutes left.

Tampa failed to get a first down the rest of the way as Jacksonville held on for the win.
