Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - New Chiefs coach Andy Reid has settled on his coordinators, with Bob Sutton as defensive coordinator and Doug Pederson as offensive coordinator.

The assignments come exactly one week after Reid signed on to become Kansas City's next coach.

The 61-year-old Sutton has spent the last 13 seasons with the New York Jets. He was defensive coordinator from 2006 through 2008 and spent the other 10 years as linebackers coach.

Prior to his stint with the Jets, Sutton was the head coach at Army for nine seasons, posting a record of 44-55-1.

"Bob is a creative coach that is going to give our defense a variety of looks and packages," said Reid. "He has a lot of experience and is well respected across the league. Bob has a high football IQ and knows how to get the most out of his players."

Pederson was an offensive assistant with Reid in Philadelphia for the past four years.

The 44-year-old Pederson was an NFL quarterback for 12 seasons with the Packers, Browns, Eagles and Dolphins. He threw for 2,762 yards to go along with 12 touchdowns and 19 interceptions.

"Doug has been around the game a long time, and he has great vision," Reid said. "As a former player in this league, he sees the game from a different perspective, and that will be a great benefit for our players. He has a knack for developing talent, and he's a good communicator. Doug is ready for this position."
