Charlotte, NC ( - The Carolina Panthers re-signed defensive tackle Colin Cole to a one-year contract on Wednesday.

Cole, 33, started 13 games and played in two more for the Panthers last season after being out of football for two years. He was credited with 19 tackles and registered one sack.

Cole suffered a ankle injury as a member of the Seattle Seahawks during the 2010 season and underwent multiple surgeries that put his career in doubt.
