Green Bay, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers is doubtful to return for the struggling Packers' Thanksgiving Day matchup at Detroit.

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy termed Rodgers' chances of playing "slim to none" in Thursday's critical NFC North clash during his Monday press conference.

Rodgers is still recovering from a fractured left collarbone the 2011 NFL MVP sustained on the opening drive of Green Bay's game against rival Chicago on Nov. 4.

"He would like to go," McCarthy said. "Based on the information, I would say he's slim to none. It would be a huge stretch for him to play in [Thursday's] game."

The Packers went on to lose to the Bears with Rodgers out of commission, then proceeded to drop their next two tests before playing two-win Minnesota to a 26-26 tie at home on Sunday.

Green Bay currently sits just behind both the Lions and Bears for first place in the NFC North with a 5-5-1 record.

McCarthy did not declare who would start at quarterback against Detroit. Scott Tolzien, who has opened under center in the Packers' last two games, was replaced by Matt Flynn in the second half of Sunday's tie with Green Bay trailing 23-7.

Flynn led Green Bay to 16 unanswered fourth-quarter points to force overtime and finished with 218 yards and a touchdown on 21-of-36 passing. Tolzien went just 7-of-17 for 98 yards prior to being pulled.

"Matt played very well. He deserves to start," said McCarthy. "I like the way Scott has grown. We're going to do everything we can to make sure both are ready."
