Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - The Tennessee Titans have reached an agreement with longtime kicker Rob Bironas on a new contract, the team announced Thursday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, though the Tennessean reported it to be a two-year pact worth around $6.7 million. Bironas, who was eligible to become an unrestricted free agent on Tuesday, earned $2.85 million this past season.

Bironas completed his eighth season with the Titans in 2012 and ranks as the third-most accurate kicker in NFL history with an 85.6 percent career success rate on field goals. The reliable veteran is coming off a bit of a down year, however, after making good on 25-of-31 three-point tries (80.6 percent) last season.

The 35-year-old had converted 53-of-58 field goal attempts over the previous two campaigns.

Bironas enters this season second on the franchise's all-time scoring list with 916 points and owns 11 career game-winning kicks. The 2007 Pro Bowl selection also holds NFL records for most field goals made in a game (8) and the most consecutive games with a field goal of 40 or more yards (10).
