Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Brian Burke built the Anaheim Ducks into a Stanley Cup champion and is now back with the organization as a part-time pro scout.

Burke was fired as general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs before the start of the truncated season in January. He was the GM of the Ducks from 2005-08, a span that featured the club's Stanley Cup title in the spring of 2007.

"We are happy to welcome Brian back to the organization," said current Ducks general manager Bob Murray. "Any time you can add a person of his quality to your staff, it makes your organization better. We've had success working together before and look forward to doing it again."

The Ducks qualified for the playoffs each season during Burke's three-year run in charge of hockey operations. After leaving Anaheim in November 2008, he took over as Leafs GM only a few weeks later.
