Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Anaheim Ducks have signed center Nick Bonino to a three-year contract extension through the 2016-17 season, the team announced Thursday.
TSN of Canada has reported the deal to have a total value of $5.7 million.
Bonino, who was slated to be a restricted free agent at the conclusion of this season, is currently tied for third among Ducks players with a career-high seven goals while adding nine assists over 27 games played. The 25-year-old also tied for the club lead with three goals during last season's loss to Detroit in the Western Conference quarterfinals.
The Connecticut native has totaled 18 goals and 31 assists over 139 NHL games, all coming with the Ducks. Bonino was acquired by Anaheim from the San Jose in March of 2009 as part of a trade that sent defenseman Kent Huskins and forward Travis Moen to the Sharks.
