Frisco, TX (Sports Network) - The Boston Bruins and Dallas Stars have pulled off a seven-player trade.

On Thursday, the deal between American NHL counterparts saw forwards Tyler Seguin and Rich Peverley and defenseman Ryan Button go from Boston to Dallas in exchange for forward Loui Eriksson, along with forward prospects Reilly Smith, Matt Fraser and defensive prospect Joe Morrow.

"Tyler is a dynamic player that will be a part of our core group for a long time to come. A player at his age, position and talent level are extremely difficult to acquire and we're thrilled to bring him into our organization," said Stars general manager Jim Nill. "Rich is an extremely reliable center that is great in the faceoff circle and will help us as a puck possession team. Being able to add two centermen in this deal will solidify a very important position, while allowing Jamie Benn to return to his natural spot at wing."

Seguin totaled 16 goals and 16 assists in 48 regular-season games, but was limited to a goal and seven assists in 22 postseason contests as the Bruins' Stanley Cup dreams fell short against Chicago. Memorably selected with the 2010 second-overall pick the Bruins received from Toronto for Phil Kessel in 2009, the 21-year-old heads to Texas after 56 goals and 65 assists in 203 games over three seasons with the B's.

Eriksson recorded 12 goals and 29 points in 48 games for Dallas, and departs the only franchise he's ever known with 150 goals and 357 points in 501 career contests.

"Eriksson is a good two-way player, he's fast, has a good release from either side, can play in all situations, and fits into the Bruins system well. What's important to remember about Tyler is that he came here with much pomp and circumstance, and played very well for young player. He's a good kid and terrific player," said Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli.

Peverley had six goals and 18 points in 47 regular-season tilts along with two goals in 21 playoff contests last season.

Button, a third-round pick of Boston in 2009, skated in 25 games with Providence of the American Hockey League in 2013.

Smith totaled three goals and nine points over 37 games with Dallas in his first prolonged NHL action, while Fraser had a goal and three points in 12 appearances for the Stars.

Morrow, shipped to the Stars in the deal for Brenden Morrow late in the regular season, picked up five goals and 19 points in 66 AHL games.
