Sabres claim Konopka from Minnesota

Buffalo, NY ( - The Buffalo Sabres have claimed forward Zenon Konopka off waivers from the Minnesota Wild.

Konopka appeared in 36 games for Minnesota this season before being waived on Thursday. He registered a goal and an assist with 55 penalty minutes for the Wild.

The 33-year-old Ontario native signed with Minnesota as a free agent last July after playing for Ottawa, the New York Islanders, Tampa Bay, Columbus and Anaheim. He has 12 goals with 17 assists for 29 points in 323 career NHL games.
