Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Carolina Hurricanes and goaltender Anton Khudobin have reached an agreement on a two-year, $4.5 million contract, the team announced Tuesday.

Khudobin, 27, will earn $2 million for the 2014-15 season and $2.5 million in 2015-16.

"We are pleased to be able to keep Anton with the Hurricanes," Hurricanes president and general manager Jim Rutherford said in a statement. "He has played well this season and signing him helps solidify our team's goaltending situation."

The Kazakhstani goaltender has a 13-8-0 record, .927 save percentage and 2.17 goals-against average in 22 games for the Hurricanes this season. He tied the franchise record for wins in a month with 10 in January.

The Hurricanes signed Khudobin to a one-year, $800,000 deal last July after he went 9-4-1 as Tuukka Rask's backup with Boston last season.

Khudobin has a 27-13-1 record in 43 NHL games since being taken in the seventh round of the 2004 draft by Minnesota. He played sparingly for the Wild and Bruins before last season.
