Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - The Detroit Red Wings have placed defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo and forward Todd Bertuzzi on injured reserve.

Colaiacovo hurt his shoulder during Monday's game against the Blue Jackets. He had two goals and 17 assists in 64 games with the Blues last season.

Bertuzzi has yet to play this season due to the flu. He had 14 goals and 24 assists in 71 games in 2011-12.

The Red Wings also signed defenseman Kent Huskins to a one-year contract and recalled forward Gustav Nyquist from Grand Rapids of the AHL.

Huskins had two goals and five assists in 25 games for St. Louis last season. In 299 career contests with the Ducks, Sharks and Blues, Huskins has 13 goals and 54 assists.
