Newark, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Rostislav Olesz has decided to leave the Devils organization to play in Europe.

The Bergen Record reported on Wednesday that the 28-year-old forward, who was signed to a one-year deal at the outset of free agency in July, will be suspended and then given his unconditional release.

Olesz, in his eighth pro season, has bounced between the NHL and AHL. He totaled just two assists in 10 games for New Jersey, while posting four points in five games for Albany.

He spent all of last season in the minors, picking up seven goals and 19 points in 14 games with Rockford, AHL affiliate of the Blackhawks.

Since arriving in North America in 2005, Olesz has recorded 57 goals and 77 assists in 365 appearances for Florida, Chicago and New Jersey.
