New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Dion Phaneuf was suspended for two games, without pay, on Tuesday for boarding Boston Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller during Sunday's game.

The incident, which didn't draw a penalty, occurred at the 17:43 mark of the third period.

Phaneuf has two goals and 10 assists in 31 games this season. He will miss Wednesday's game at home against the LA Kings and Thursday's tilt at St. Louis.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Phaneuf will forfeit $66,666.66. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
