Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - The Vancouver Canucks announced on Friday that the club will honor superstar forward Pavel Bure with a jersey retirement ceremony.

Bure's No. 10 will be raised to the rafters prior to a home contest on Nov. 2 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He'll become the fourth player to receive such an honor, joining Stan Smyl (12), Trevor Linden (16) and Markus Naslund (19).

The native of Moscow entered the NHL with the Canucks for the 1991-92 season, winning the Calder Trophy after posting 34 goals and 60 points in 65 games.

He followed up with back-to-back franchise-best 60-goal campaigns, the latter coming in 1994, when the underdog Canucks took the Presidents' Trophy-winning New York Rangers to a Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Finals. Bure led the club that postseason with 16 tallies and 31 points in 24 games.

Nicknamed "The Russian Rocket," Bure departed British Columbia in January of 1999 after racking up 254 goals and 478 points in 428 games. The fleet winger remains the franchise leader in short-handed goals with 24 and also compiled nine hat tricks.
