Recap: Vancouver vs. Los Angeles

Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - Dan Hamhuis, Mason Raymond and Jannik Hansen each registered a goal and an assist on Saturday, as the Vancouver Canucks knocked off the Los Angeles Kings, 5-2, at Rogers Arena.

Chris Higgins and Daniel Sedin also lit the lamp, while Cory Schneider stopped 28-of-30 shots to help the Canucks put the brakes on a two-game skid.

"You need some scoring from everyone and we got that tonight," Canucks forward Alexandre Burrows said.

Justin Williams and Jordan Nolan each scored once for the Kings, who had won five straight. Jonathan Quick allowed four goals on 23 shots in the setback.

"You win you move on, you lose you move on," Kings head coach Darryl Suter said.

Hamhuis' tally came just under four minutes in when Burrows slid a nice feed from the low left side to a cutting Hamhuis, who pounded home a one- timer from the low right side at the 3:43 mark of the first.

LA found the equalizer while on the power play just over six minutes into the middle stanza. Jake Muzzin faked a shot from the slot and slid a quick pass to the top of the left circle for Williams, who one-timed a blast past Schneider at the 6:12 mark of the second.

Vancouver regained control just over four minutes later when Raymond received a pass in the slot from Hansen and rifled a shot that sailed high over Quick to make it 2-1 at the 10:32 mark.

The Kings, though, quickly answered when Schneider misplayed a puck behind the net and Nolan recovered it and snuck in a wraparound before Schneider could recover to knot the game at the 13:23 mark.

The Canucks countered less than two minutes later when Burrows flipped a pass from his own zone to Henrik Sedin near the Los Angeles blue line. Henrik Sedin then skated to the top of left circle before sliding a pass through the slot to Daniel Sedin, who one-timed the disc past Quick for a 3-2 lead at 15:08.

Vancouver padded the lead with just over two minutes left in the frame when Hansen recovered a loose puck at the top of the left circle and ripped a quick shot that sailed over the glove-side of Quick for a 4-2 lead at 17:52.

Schneider kept the Canucks in front from there, stopping all 10 shots he faced in the final frame to hold the Kings at bay.

Higgins added an empty-netter with 23 seconds left to account for the final margin.
