Recap: Anaheim vs. Phoenix

Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Jonas Hiller made 18 saves for his first shutout of the season and the Anaheim Ducks beat the Phoenix Coyotes, 2-0, in the third meeting in five days between the two clubs.

Ryan Getzlaf had a goal and an assist for the Ducks, who have won nine straight as the host since a 5-0 loss to Vancouver on Jan. 25 in their home opener. It's the Ducks' longest home winning streak since taking 10 in a row from Feb. 17-March 26, 2008.

Corey Perry lit the lamp in the first period for Anaheim, which bounced back from consecutive 5-4 shootout losses to these Coyotes on Saturday and Monday.

"We came out and played the game we wanted to," Getzlaf said. "That was a lot better defensive effort. We shut them down. Goaltending played great and didn't allow any second chances. It was a good healthy game. Both teams had hard fought nights."

Jason LaBarbera stopped 22-of-23 shots for Phoenix.

Perry's goal at the 7:10 mark of the first period proved to be the game- winner. Getzlaf stole the puck in the neutral zone before passing to Bobby Ryan. Perry, positioned in the slot, took a pass from Ryan and beat LaBarbera.

At the 5:17 mark of the second stanza, LaBarbera stopped Andrew Cogliano on a penalty shot to keep it a 1-0 game.

"We got a solid game from him," Coyotes coach Dave Tippett said. "He stopped a penalty shot and another breakaway. He gave us a chance to win and we just needed a little more push on the offensive side."

Getzlaf added an empty-net goal late in the third period. Hiller made nine saves in the final frame.
