Recap: Los Angeles vs. Calgary

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Justin Williams posted a goal and two assists as the Los Angeles Kings routed the Calgary Flames, 6-2, on Saturday.

Slava Voynov had three assists while Anze Kopitar and Colin Fraser each gave a goal and an assist for the Kings, who have won eight of their last 10. Jonathan Quick made 17 saves in the win.

"We corrected things after the first period and had a good final 40 minutes," Quick said.

Mike Cammalleri and Alex Tanguay scored for the Flames, who have dropped their past two and four of six. Miikka Kiprusoff was pulled in the third period after allowing six goals on 22 shots while Joey McDonald stopped the two shots he faced in relief.

"We don't back down. We didn't feel like we got pushed around. We competed, but we were outplayed tonight. It was in the second period they took the game over," Calgary's Jarome Iginla said.

These two teams will meet again in Los Angeles on Monday.

Jeff Carter got the scoring started with a power-play goal at the 4:18 mark for Los Angeles, but Calgary tied the game three minutes later on Cammalleri's marker on the man advantage.

The Kings then went back on top just past the midway mark of the first as Fraser sent a pass from the right point over to the left point where Jake Muzzin's heavy wrister went through traffic and over the glove of Kiprusoff.

It was a 3-1 game with 1:37 to play in the first when Voynov brought the puck in the left side, cut to the front and dished it to the right where Trevor Lewis snapped it in.

Calgary, though, scored with just 17 seconds to play in the first as Tanguay finished off a give-and-go with Mark Giordano for his seventh goal of the season.

The only goal of the second period went to Los Angeles when Voynov's slap shot from the right point was deflected down low by Williams for a 4-2 advantage halfway through the frame.

Kopitar scored at the 3:53 mark of the third period while Fraser put the puck in off a rebound 8:22 in to chase Kiprusoff and cap the scoring in the game.

Game Notes

The Kings have taken both matchups with Calgary this season ... Carter has 17 goals on the season and trails Tampa's Steven Stamkos by two for the NHL lead ... Los Angeles was 1-for-1 on the power play while Calgary went 1-for-4.
