Recap: Edmonton vs. Nashville

Edmonton, AB (Sports Network) - Lennart Petrell and Jordan Eberle both scored in the third period to lift the Edmonton Oilers to a 3-2 win over the Nashville Predators at Rexall Place.

Devan Dubnyk made 29 saves for the Oilers, who have won three of their last four games since a 6-0 setback in Nashville on March 8.

Roman Josi had a goal and an assist for Nashville, which went 0-3-0 on a swing through western Canada. The five-game road trip began with a 4-0 win in Dallas, but the Predators allowed 13 goals in losses to Vancouver and Calgary.

Pulled early from each of the Predators' previous two games, Pekka Rinne stopped 18 shots.

The clubs entered the third even at 1-1, and the Predators went on a power play when Justin Schultz shot the puck into the stands from the Edmonton zone at the 9:30 mark.

The Oilers wound up moving in front on a shorthanded goal by Petrell, who fired home Sam Gagner's pass on a 2-on-1 rush at 10:53.

Eberle then ended a 10-game scoring drought with 4:12 to play.

"It was nice to finally chip in with a goal again. It's been a while. I'd been getting chances but they weren't going in," Eberle said.

Josi found the back of the net with 10 seconds remaining and Rinne on the bench for an extra attacker. The Predators' comeback bid fell short, however, as Edmonton held on for the victory.

After a scoreless first period, the teams traded power-play goals in the middle frame. Magnus Paajarvi buried a rebound at 8:11, and Shea Weber answered for Nashville with a one-time blast from the point at 16:37.

"We're giving games away. We are making mistakes. It's hard to comprehend right now. We need to get things back on track," Weber said.
