Recap: Detroit vs. Calgary

Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Dennis Wideman had a goal and an assist as the Calgary Flames handled the Detroit Red Wings, 4-1, on Tuesday.

Jarome Iginla, Curtis Glencross and Mark Giordano also scored for the Flames, who snapped a two-game skid. Jiri Hudler had one shot against his former team.

Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 19-of-20 shots before leaving the game after two periods with a lower-body injury. Leland Irving made six saves in relief.

"He's going to be re-evaluated (Wednesday). I can't tell you any more," Flames coach Bob Hartley said.

Johan Franzen scored the lone goal for the Red Wings, who have lost two in a row. Jimmy Howard turned aside 19-of-23 shots.

Iginla's first goal of the season came 3:24 into the game. He knocked in an Anlex Tanguay rebound to make it 1-0.

The Flames converted on a 5-on-3 power play midway through the opening stanza. Mike Cammalleri controlled the puck at the top of the right circle before sliding a pass to the front of the net for Glencross, whose tip-in made it 2-0.

Detroit finally got on the board at the 12:37 mark of the second frame. Franzen took a pass from Henrik Zetterberg and beat Kiprusoff with a backhander for a man-advantage score.

Wideman put the Flames ahead by two again with just 23.1 seconds remaining on a blistering shot from just inside the blue line that eluded Howard.

Giordano added an unassisted power-play goal late in the third period to account for the final margin.

"I thought we did some good things tonight, but we made some mistakes and they shot in our net without any question about it, so we're chasing the game," Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said.
