Recap: Montreal vs. Boston

Montreal, QC (Sports Network) - Tyler Seguin and David Krejci scored in the third period to help the Boston Bruins take a 2-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens in a Northeast Division battle.

Tuukka Rask posted 20 saves and Seguin and Krejci each added an assist for the Bruins, who have won five of six.

"It's a big rivalry but it feels good to win," said Rask. "I knew they were going to crash the net a lot, like those in-tight plays. They missed a couple of times in the first, and they got a lucky goal in the second."

P.K. Subban scored the lone goal of the game for the Canadiens, who had won six of seven coming into the game. Carey Price gave up both goals on 23 shots in the loss.

"We had a tough second period and the start of the third," said Subban. "We gave up two quick goals in the first two minutes. We were forcing them into turnovers in the first, but those two goals took us out."

Trailing by a goal to start the third, the Bruins tied the game just 14 seconds in as Krejci brought the disc from the right boards to the side of the net and sent it out front where Seguin redirected it home.

Less than two minutes later, the Bruins took the lead when Seguin brought the puck in through the middle, dished over to the left for Milan Lucic, who then sent it to the goalmouth where Krejci got a stick on it for a 2-1 advantage.

Rask needed to turn away just five shots in the final period to help Boston grab the win and the overall lead in the Eastern Conference.

The first period passed without a score and the second period stayed that way until the 10:53 mark when Montreal got on the board.

Skating on the power play after Lucic got called for high sticking, Subban blasted a shot on net from the right point that tipped off the stick of Rich Peverley and sailed over the glove Rask for a 1-0 lead.
