Recap: Nashville vs. Los Angeles

Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Colin Wilson scored twice and Pekka Rinne recorded 32 saves to notch his 26th career shutout, as the Nashville Predators earned their first home win with a 3-0 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday at Bridgestone Arena.

Gabriel Bourque also lit the lamp, while Kevin Klein added a pair of assists for the Predators, who have won four straight since opening the season with losses in five of their first six games.

"We didn't have too many shots tonight, but it's nice that we're burying our chances now and creating that offense," Wilson said. "It's certainly something to build off of."

Los Angeles outshot the Preds, 32-14, but the Kings couldn't solve Rinne en route to their third loss in their last four games.

Jonathan Quick allowed all three goals in the setback.

Bourque opened the scoring just under three minutes in when he took a nice backhand feed from David Legwand below the goal line and one-timed a blast from just inside the left circle that sailed past Quick at the 2:54 mark.

Wilson then netted a pair of goals in the second to provide the Preds with a three-goal cushion.

The first came just over seven minutes in when Klein charged down the right wing and slipped a quick pass to a cutting Wilson, who one-timed a shot past Quick for a 2-0 edge at the 7:01 mark.

Then, with just under seven minutes left in the second and the Preds on the power play, Wilson pounded in a rebound off a point blast from Shea Weber to make it 3-0 at the 13:02 mark.

"They're really good defensively and if they get the lead it's hard to get a goal back, let alone three," Los Angeles center Colin Fraser said of the Predators. "We felt we played a lot better in the second and third, but too little, too late."

Buffs hoping to stampede way back to respectability

It's been more than two decades since the football team at the University of Colorado hoisted its one and only national championship trophy, and the program has struggled to remain relevant ever since.
