Recap: Columbus vs. Calgary

Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - Nick Foligno potted a pair of goals in a 51- second span as part of a three-goal second stanza that helped the Columbus Blue Jackets extend their club-record point streak to 12 games with a 5-1 victory over the Calgary Flames at Nationwide Arena.

Artem Anisimov capped the second-period flurry, while Jared Boll and Colton Gillies also lit the lamp for the Blue Jackets, who improved to 8-0-4 since losing its last regulation game to Chicago on Feb. 24.

"I think if you ask anybody in the hockey world they probably never would have imagined this," Columbus coach Todd Richards said of his team's point streak. "All we did was take it game-by-game."

Sergei Bobrovsky posted 24 saves to improve to 8-0-2 in his last 10 games.

Curtis Glencross scored the lone Calgary goal, while Miikka Kiprusoff allowed all five goals on 28 shots for the Flames, who have lost nine straight on the road and three in a row overall.

"They're a team that works hard," Calgary defenseman Jay Bouwmeester said of Columbus. "Every time you come in here you know that. They haven't had a lot of success here but they always work hard and give you a tough game."

Glencross' re-direct goal at the 4:24 mark of the second evened the contest at 1-1, but the Blue Jackets struck three times in a team-record 1:15 span later in the stanza to seize control.

Foligno netted the first two tallies, with the first coming at the 13:05 mark when he made his way into the slot before pounding home the puck amid a scrum in front to give Columbus a 2-1 lead.

Just 51 seconds later, the Columbus winger received a pass in the slot from R.J. Umberger before beating Kiprusoff high to the glove side to double the advantage.

Anismov then capped the offensive outburst at the 14:20 mark when he intercepted a Calgary clearing feed in the slot before rifling a wrister past Kiprusoff to extend Columbus' lead to 4-1.

Gillies' first goal of the season at the 13:14 mark of the third made it a four-goal margin and Bobrovsky stopped all eight shots he faced in the final frame.

Boll opened the scoring with 3:04 left in the first, as he recovered a loose puck in the slot before burying the disc into the back of the net.
