Recap: Vancouver vs. Colorado

Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - Daniel Sedin scored the winner in the third period to lead the Vancouver Canucks to a 4-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche.

Both Daniel and Henrik Sedin posted a goal and an assist, as did Alexandre Burrows for the Canucks, who are on a six-game winning streak. Cory Schneider stopped 32 shots.

"I'm not trying to put too much into it," said Schneider regarding the streak. "I'm just worried about the next game. I think we're just as good as the next game."

Matt Duchene had the lone goal for the Avalanche, who have lost four straight and eight of nine. Semyon Varlamov gave up two goals on 18 shots.

"They got some timely goals and we got some unlucky bounces," said Duchene.

Colorado had tied the game at 1-1 4:02 into the third as good work behind the net by P.A. Parenteau saw him center the puck where Duchene one-timed it home.

Vancouver, though, took the lead back with 8:28 to play after a left circle faceoff win that saw the puck eventually come back to the slot where Daniel Sedin snapped it home for a 2-1 lead.

Henrik Sedin sealed the win on an empty-netter with 1:24 to play, and Chris Higgins added another empty-netter 44 seconds later.

The Canucks took a 1-0 lead just 4:27 into the game as Daniel Sedin passed it from the left circle to the right where Henrik fed it back down to the low left side for the tap into the open net.

Neither side got on the board in the second period as Varlamov made seven stops while Schneider turned away 10.
