Recap: Dallas vs. Minnesota

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Erik Cole, Jamie Benn and Cody Eakin tallied in the third period, as the Dallas Stars ended the Minnesota Wild's seven-game win streak with a 5-3 decision at American Airlines Center.

Ray Whitney and Tomas Vincour also scored for the Stars, who won their fourth game in six thanks to three power-play strikes.

Kari Lehtonen made 30 saves for the victory, as Dallas avenged a 7-4 loss to Minnesota at home on Monday.

Jaromir Jagr added a helper to reach 1,000 assists, becoming the 12th player in NHL history to attain that milestone and first of European training.

"When I started I didn't really think about this moment," said Jagr. "I was just happy to be able to play over here. I just kept working hard and I was really lucky to have a lot of great players on my side that I learned a lot from."

Devin Setoguchi and Jared Spurgeon provided offense for the Wild, who hadn't dropped a road decision since a 5-3 setback in Chicago on March 5.

"Every winning streak comes to an end and that's the way things go," said Spurgeon. "We fought hard tonight, but just couldn't find a way to break through until late."

Matt Hackett surrendered all five scores on 33 shots, including three on just five shots in the final 20 minutes.

Cole's snapper 62 seconds into the third gave the Stars a 3-2 edge, and Jagr reached quadruple digits in the assist category with a secondary assist on Benn's strike off a Whitney dish 68 seconds later for a 4-2 Dallas margin.

The hosts assumed a 5-2 advantage at the tail end of a power play when Eakin popped in a loose puck from inside the crease with 7:20 to go.

Only 60 seconds remained when a Torrey Mitchell backhander pulled Minnesota within two, but another goal to reduce its deficit with an extra attacker was not in the cards.

Whitney's blast on a power play gave Dallas the edge with 4:14 played in the first, then Vincour's shot eluded Hackett at 7:31.

Setoguchi put the visitors on the board with 1:12 left in the period and Spurgeon tied the score with the only red light of the second, slipping home a man-advantage score off the right post with 4:44 remaining.
