Recap: Vancouver vs. Dallas

Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - Brenden Dillon scored the game-winner with 3:01 left in the third to spoil Henrik Sedin's record-setting night and lift the Dallas Stars to a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Friday at Rogers Arena.

Sedin recorded a pair of assists in the second period to pass Markus Naslund for first place on Vancouver's all-time scoring list with 757 career points, but the Stars scored three answered goals to battle back from a 3-1 deficit and earn their fifth win in their last six games.

Cody Eakin added a goal and an assist, while Antoine Roussel and Reilly Smith also lit the lamp for the Stars, who had lost eight of their last 10 against the Canucks.

Richard Bachman replaced an injured Kari Lehtonen in the first period and stopped 18-of-21 shots en route to the victory.

Henrik's twin brother, Daniel, registered a goal and an assist, while Chris Higgins and Alexandre Burrows each scored once for Vancouver, which saw its six-game win streak come to an end.

Cory Schneider was charged with all four goals on 29 shots in the setback.

Henrik Sedin broke the franchise record near the midpoint of the second when his feed from the left dot made its way through two Dallas defenders before Burrows buried a one-timer from the low right circle past Bachman to cap Vancouver's three-goal second stanza.

The Vancouver faithful rightfully gave Henrik Sedin a standing ovation and remained on their feet cheering until the next whistle, when he gave a wave of appreciation to the crowd.

It was the last chance the Vancouver fans would have to cheer though, as the Stars stormed back with three unanswered goals to take control.

"It's never easy nor fun coming in cold like that," Bachman said. "That's a good team with a lot of skill. They started buzzing, especially at the end of the second period. The building started rocking. You just try to stay calm and forget about everything that's going on."

The first came late in the second when Trevor Daley flipped a shot on net from the slot that slipped out of the grasp of Schneider and Eakin was there to pound home the rebound to make it 3-2 at the 17:50 mark.

Roussel then registered the game-tying goal at the 12:22 mark of the third, as he corralled a loose puck in front and lifted a shot past Schneider.

Then, with just over three minutes left, Jamie Benn received the puck at the top of the right circle and slid a backdoor pass toward the left circle for Dillon, who one-timed a blast past Schneider to give the Stars a 4-3 lead.

The Canucks were unable to find the equalizer, as Bachman fought off a late Vancouver flurry.

"We gave this game away," Henrik Sedin said. "We should have won this. We had the game exactly where we wanted so it's tough."

Early on, Vancouver forward Mason Raymond had a goal waived off for making contact with Bachman in the crease and just 11 seconds later, Reilly flipped a shot from the right circle that deflected off the stick of Vancouver defenseman Kevin Bieksa and snuck past the short-side of Schneider for a 1-0 edge at the 16:51 mark.

Vancouver then netted a pair of goals just 53 seconds apart early in the second, with the Sedin twins working together to notch the first. Henrik recovered a rebound behind the net and fed Daniel, who punched it in past Bachman from the left side of the net at the 3:21 mark.

Then, just under a minute later, Higgins fired a shot from the high slot that deflected off the stick of Dallas defenseman Stephane Robidas and skipped past Bachman for a 2-1 edge at the 4:14 mark.

Game Notes

Lehtonen left the game with a lower body injury and did not return ... Dallas forward Jaromir Jagr celebrated his 41st birthday on Friday ... Benn extended his point streak to six games ... Vancouver forward Ryan Kesler made his season debut after missing the first 13 games due to offseason shoulder and wrist surgery. He finished with one assist and four shots in 17:27 of ice time ... Dallas finished 0-for-4 on the power play, while Vancouver went 0-for-3.
