Recap: Chicago vs. Columbus

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The mighty Chicago Blackhawks just keep racking up points.

Corey Crawford, playing in his first game since Feb. 12, stopped 28 shots for his second shutout of the season and the Blackhawks continued the best start in NHL history with a 1-0 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday.

Andrew Shaw scored the lone goal for Chicago (15-0-3), which has recorded at least one point in 18 straight games to begin the season.

The Blackhawks improved to 5-0-1 during their seven-game homestand that wraps up Monday night against Edmonton. Chicago holds a 7-0-1 mark at the United Center this season.

Steve Mason stopped 26-of-27 shots for the Blue Jackets, who have lost nine straight against the Blackhawks.

"Our goaltender played really well for us and we played a good game, (but) the power play was not good enough," Blue Jackets center Derick Brassard said. "When you have six or seven chances and you lose a game 1-0, it was obviously not good enough. The execution was not good."

Columbus went 1-5-0 during a six-game road trip, and fell to 2-8-0 as the road team this season.

The lone goal of the contest came with 1:27 left in the second period. Bryan Bickell made a no-look pass from behind the net to Shaw, who put the puck past Mason.

Crawford made 13 saves in the middle stanza to keep Chicago in front.

"I just focus on whatever comes at me, but our guys did a good job to let me see pucks, clear rebounds and a couple times made some big blocks on a couple backdoor plays," Crawford said. "It feels good to get back in there and play again.

The Blue Jackets went 0-for-3 on the power play in the third stanza. They ended the game 0-for-5 with the man advantage.
