Recap: Anaheim vs. Colorado

Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Ryan Getzlaf tied things in the third period and assisted on Corey Perry's game-winner in overtime as the Anaheim Ducks earned a 4-3 come-from-behind win over the Colorado Avalanche.

Perry and Getzlaf each had three points, with the former's second goal sealing the Ducks' sixth straight victory. Francois Beauchemin assisted on all four Anaheim goals, while Jonas Hiller made 20 saves to pick up the win.

John Mitchell, Cody McLeod and P.A. Parenteau all scored for the Avalanche, who fell to 2-6-1 on the road this season. Jean-Sebastien Giguere was peppered with 39 shots and gave up four goals in taking the loss.

"We got a big point, but we have to have more of a killer instinct," Giguere said. "I'm disappointed."

Colorado led 3-2 entering the third period but recorded just two shots the rest of the way. The Ducks pulled even when Giguere thought he had a shot from Perry frozen, but the puck trickled behind him far enough for Getzlaf to tap it in with 11:11 remaining in regulation.

That was the second of three power-play goals for Anaheim, the last coming after Avs defenseman Ryan O'Byrne was whistled for hooking with 1:01 left in the extra session.

Perry set up in front as time was winding down and went uncovered. Getzlaf found him from the left circle for the redirect, and the puck hit the twine with 45.4 seconds on the clock.

"We knew it wasn't going to be easy, but to come back and find a way to win is a great feeling," Perry said.

Colorado never trailed until that point, scoring twice in the opening period. McLeod tipped in Matt Hunwick's shot just 2:28 into the game, and Parenteau lit the lamp in the final minute of a Nick Bonino's double-minor with 7:06 left in the first.

Getzlaf fed Perry in front to halve Anaheim's deficit at 6:59 of the middle stanza, and Teemu Selanne tied it near the midway point on a snap shot that moved him past Phil Esposito and into third place all-time with 250 career power-play goals.

Forty seconds after Selanne's tally the Avs went back in front as Mitchell's seemingly harmless wrister from between the top of the circles squeezed through Hiller at 10:04.

Game Notes

Selanne's goal was the 668th of his career, tying him with Luc Robitaille for 11th all-time ... Anaheim improved to 10-1-0 in February and have won six straight for the first time since Nov. 3-12, 2010 ... Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler played for the first time since he suffered an upper-body injury on Feb. 2 and recorded two shots.
