Recap: New Jersey vs. Philadelphia

Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Steve Bernier scored the winner in the second period to help the New Jersey Devils take a 4-1 win in preseason action.

Dainius Zubrus, Damien Brunner and Michael Ryder each had a goal for the Devils, who wrapped up the preseason with a mark of 4-2-0.

Cory Schneider stopped all nine shots he faced, while Keith Kinkaid gave up a goal on four shots for New Jersey, which starts its regular season on Oct. 3 at Pittsburgh.

Matt Read had a goal while Steve Mason gave up three goals on 24 shots for the Flyers, who have one preseason game left on Friday at Washington.
