Recap: Toronto vs. Buffalo

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Phil Kessel scored twice and Jake Gardiner registered a goal and an assist to lead the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 5-3 victory over the Buffalo Sabres in preseason action from Air Canada Centre.

Trevor Smith and Josh Leivo each scored once for the Leafs, who received 25 saves from starting goaltender Jonathan Bernier.

Jamie McBain recorded a goal and an assist, while Nikita Zadorov and Corey Tropp added a marker apiece for the Sabres. Ryan Miller surrendered four goals on 31 shots in the setback.
