Recap: Carolina vs. Columbus

Raleigh, NC (Sports Network) - Marian Gaborik and Sean Collins each scored third-period goals as the Columbus Blue Jackets posted a 5-4 come-from-behind win over the Carolina Hurricanes in a preseason test from PNC Arena.

The Blue Jackets trailed 4-2 before Ryan Johansen tallied on the power-play in the second period, then tied it 1:33 into the third on Gaborik's second marker of the night. Collins knocked home the game-winner less than five minutes afterward.

Gaborik added an assist and Brandon Dubinsky notched three helpers for Columbus, which also received a goal and an assist out of Boone Jenner. Mike McKenna stopped all 12 shots he faced after Curtis McElhinney let up four Carolina goals on 22 chances.

Alexander Semin tallied two goals in defeat and Eric Staal and Jeremy Welsh also lit the lamp for the Hurricanes. Cam Ward turned aside 26-of-31 shots between the pipes.
