Recap: Tampa Bay vs. St. Louis

Orlando, FL (Sports Network) - Valtteri Filppula scored the deciding goal and Adam Erne added the insurance tally in the shootout as Tampa Bay clipped St. Louis, 4-3, in exhibition action on Wednesday.

Teddy Purcell missed on the Bolts' first chance in the shootout, but the next two shooters hit their mark. Meanwhile, the Blues' Ty Rattie and Chris Stewart failed to hit the net.

Erne added two markers in regulation and Tom Pyatt tied the game near the midway point of the third for the Lightning, who trailed 3-0 late in the second period. Kristers Gudlevskis picked up the win in relief of Cedrick Desjardins. The goaltenders combined to stop 25 shots prior to the shootout.

Dmitrij Jaskin scored twice and Jaden Schwartz once in regulation for St. Louis. Brian Elliott went the distance for the Blues, allowing three goals on 27 shots.
