Recap: Tampa Bay vs. Florida

Estero, FL (Sports Network) - Nikita Kucherov scored with 56 seconds left in overtime to lift the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 3-2 victory over the Florida Panthers in preseason action on Thursday.

Richard Panik tallied in the third period to even the score for Tampa Bay.

Tim Thomas, who signed a one-year contract with the Panthers earlier on Thursday, started in net for Florida. He allowed a second-period goal to Tyler Johnson before giving way to Jacob Markstrom between the pipes.

The 39-year-old Thomas sat out the 2012-13 season.

Jonathan Huberdeau scored twice for Florida in the setback.
