Recap: Ottawa vs. Boston

Ottawa, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Jason Spezza tied the game early in the third and then assisted on Jared Cowen's go-ahead tally just over four minutes later, as the Ottawa Senators scored four unanswered goals to rally for a 4-2 victory over the Boston Bruins on Friday at Canadian Tire Centre.

Chris Neil got Ottawa on the board late in the first before Spezza, Cowen and Bobby Ryan each lit the lamp in the third to help the Senators secure their fourth win in five tries.

Craig Anderson turned aside 30 shots to backstop the victory.

"We were playing the right way for most of the game, minus the first couple of minutes of the game where we get down by two, but we find a way," Anderson said. "That's what matters, and we've got something we can build off of now."

Loui Eriksson notched a goal and an assist and Brad Marchand potted his third of the season for the Bruins, who had a four-game win streak halted.

Tuukka Rask allowed all four goals on 31 shots in defeat.

With the Senators trailing 2-1 after two periods, Spezza scored 1:32 into the third to even the score, as Erik Karlsson faked a shot from the right point and dished to the low left side, where Spezza rifled the disc home.

Cowen put the Sens on top just over four minutes later, as he blasted a shot from above the left circle that snuck through Rask's five-hole for a 3-2 Ottawa lead at 5:42.

"I didn't see that, but it went through me, so it's kind of a bad goal," Rask said of Cowen's marker. "I should stop that."

Ryan doubled the lead at 10:11 when he lifted the stick of Reilly Smith in the Boston zone and stole the puck before beating Rask from the right circle to account for the final margin.

Early on, Boston built a 2-0 lead before the midpoint of the first period, with Eriksson tipping in a Matt Bartkowski point blast at 6:03 before Marchand beat Anderson glove-side with a wrister from the right circle at 9:50.

Neil sliced the Senators' deficit in half with under a minute left in the first when he came up with a turnover in the Boston zone and wristed a shot from the right circle that sailed past Rask's far side.

Game Notes
