Recap: Los Angeles vs. Columbus

Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Robyn Regehr scored 2:33 into overtime to lift the Los Angeles Kings over the Columbus Blue Jackets, 2-1, on Thursday.

Jake Muzzin scored early in the third period for the Kings, who snapped a four-game skid heading into the Olympic break. Jonathan Quick stopped 24-of-25 shots.

"To just battle back, we didn't have the start that we wanted to in the game, and we've been on a terrible run here in the last month so we're really happy to get this win," Regehr said. "It was a very important game for us, and now we can enjoy the break then come back and get to work."

Jack Johnson scored the lone goal for the Blue Jackets, who had a three-game winning streak snapped. Sergei Bobrovsky turned aside 18-of-20 shots.

Johnson scored on the power play at 1:40 of the first period when his shot from the right circle got past Quick.

The Kings outshot the Blue Jackets by an 11-10 margin during a scoreless second stanza.

Muzzin tied the game during 4-on-4 play at the 3:09 mark of the third period. He got behind the defense to put in Anze Kopitar's pass from the right circle.

Regehr scored on a slap shot from the left side 2:33 into overtime to send the Kings to victory. It was Regehr's first career overtime goal.

"I think they played really hard. There wasn't a lot of space out there," Columbus coach Todd Richards said. "I think they checked well I thought we checked well. It was an intense physical game and we knew that coming in and I thought we were going to get tested here in this building and I'm real happy with the way the guys came out and played the game."
