Recap: Los Angeles vs. Winnipeg

Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Anze Kopitar scored two goals to help the Los Angeles Kings beat the Winnipeg Jets 4-2 and extend their winning streak to six games.

Jonathan Quick made 24 saves, including one late with his skate while prone on his stomach and Winnipeg buzzing in the Los Angeles zone.

"I lost my footing a little bit, and then the puck went to the side," Quick said. "I can't remember who took a shot from the corner. I was just trying to get coverage. Luckily it hit my skate. I don't know if it was going in, it might have been going wide."

Ondrej Pavelec got the start in net for the Jets, but played only one period in his return from a lower-body injury. Pavelec, who had missed six games, was pulled after allowing three goals on 16 shots. Al Montoya stopped 12 shots in relief.

Pavelec was beaten by Trevor Lewis from a bad angle near the bottom of the left circle 2:42 into the contest.

Kopitar made it 3-0 off a pair of rebounds. His first goal was a bit lucky as the puck went in off his midsection at 7:53. He then backhanded the puck under Pavelec's left pad from deep in the right circle with 2:23 remaining.

"It taught us a really good lesson in the first period, we just gave them so much ice to play on," said Winnipeg head coach Paul Maurice.

The Jets got on the board when Matt Halischuk tapped an Evander Kane feed home from the crease at 1:54 of the third period.

Los Angeles quickly went back up by three goals. A Willie Mitchell shot block led to a counter rush. Tyler Toffoli raced down the left wing and snapped a wrister past Montoya at 4:59.

Blake Wheeler scored the Jets' second goal on a power play at 8:56.
