Recap: Calgary vs. Edmonton

Calgary, AB (Sports Network) - Ryan Jones, David Perron and Martin Marincin each scored a goal as the Edmonton Oilers took a 3-2 victory over the Calgary Flames in the preseason opener for both squads.

Taylor Fedun had two assists while Jason LaBarbera stopped 12 shots while playing half the game in net for the Oilers, who got eight stops from Richard Bachman the rest of the way.

Emile Poirier and Michael Cammalleri scored the goals for the Flames, who saw Joey MacDonald and Joni Ortio split time in net.

These two clubs were playing as split squads, as the other half of the teams also played a game in Edmonton on Saturday.
